hey- i just bought an ac110 off ebay. one problem is that the filter seems to be constantly pulling water into the intake pipe even after over an hour. i know this should take alike a second, but this has been going on constantly. its like the filter cannot poull the water up through the pipe. the filter is full and the water level is near the rim of the tank. any ideas on what the problem is?

is the intake tube fully attached to the pump?

There may be a crack in the intake pipe and that would cause it to loose suction. As long as there is water in the filter almost to the top it shouldn't take very long for the filter to prime itself. Also make sure the impeller is spinning inside.

yes, the intake tube is attached properly.

is here a way to check the pipe to see if it is cracked?
and yes the impeller is spinning on its spindle in the motor. just seems odd that suction cannot be established.

sounds like there is air getting in some where.

es, that's my guess too. the pipe that is u-shaped was put together in two parts. the top part of the u-tube pipe has alot of plastic left over from where it was melted together. could that eb where the leak is coming from?

Oh... I didn't read the OP that well... So the filter is full of water and it still can't get a siphon?

well pretty much yea. i try to fiddle the intake tube around but even then it cannot seem to keep the suction. i don't know- maybe it was air getting into the filter tube. maybe not. anybody deal with this?

If the motor is running, the filter is full of water, and you can't get a siphon, I would say it's an air leak... the motor creates suction through the intake tube, and unless there's an air leak, it really has no choice but to suck up the water.

I have an AC for the record...

Is it used? I would take the intake tube assembly off and inspect it for any cracks or holes... pictures would be good.

It should be a kind of big "7" shape, that you can pull off.
