The 1500w heater in the fish room and the washer is on the same circuit, so when I we use the washer the heater has to be turned off. Some times we forget to do it and pop there goes the breaker. Theres really nothing I can do, I rent. I told the landlord I was going to have a couple aquariums, he would prolly $@#% a brick if he saw all the aquariums I had, 15+ lol.

You do know that that circuit breaker will wear out and need to be replaced if it trips too many times. Breakers wear out and get weak eventually. When that happens who will replace it? If the answer is your landlord then he will see all of your tanks! Just a heads up!

I agree that it's the dirty impellers and impeller chambers causing this problem. I see it as a flaw in their design, this never happens to my Whispers even when they've been in service for years without having the impellers and their chambers cleaned, when I did finally clean them they had more gunk in them than the ACs.

Have you ever cleaned your impellars? None of my ACs do this.

When I clean mine about once a month or two, I rinse them out really good with the sprayer. I guess next time I will use one of those big pipe cleaner things.

Corrado93 - Does this happen to every filter every time? or just every once in a while?

The impeller does not get stuck every time, but i would say more often than not.
The more annoying problem that happens every time is the failure to prime. I do large water changes and therefore the waterline drops well beneath the filter intake. I always need to refill the filter for it to prime. I dont remember having that problem with my Marineland Emperor 280.

I clean my impellers each time I clean the filter and never have that kind of problem. If the impeller is sticking to the magnate then it must be worn out and would make a ton of noise. Clean thoroughly, replace impeller if needed, end of problem.
