i was considering 2 ac110 on my 58 gallon but now was considering 1 ac110 and a marineland 250 hob for polishing the water what do you guys recomend

I would just stick with the AC110s, if you clean the sponges on a weekly basis there is no need for water polishing.

Im with the one ac110 crowd. Although a sponge filter as a backup never hurts. I try to run two filters on all my systems should one fail.

So then why not two ACs? Why take up tank space with an ugly sponge filter that provides very little circulation or mechanical filtration?
