ok after trying other outlets with an extension cord filter did the same got out my multimeter and i think because im in a large apartment complex im getting a voltage drop and due to the fact there mag drive filters its surging i have both ac110 runnin on the 58 gallon now well see how long a motor and impellar lasts

probably forever.. if the problem is electrical surge.. then u can't really help it..

My friend had a similar problem where his apartment is really old and he gets power surge sometimes.. although this is the first i've heard of it affecting AC110s..

There are only 2 more things I can think of - 1) Is the filter level? and 2) Is the water level high enough in your aquarium?

yes checked to make sure filters are level and tank is always full because i dont like the noise

get a battery back up and put your filter on it.
