Where the heart is!!!
So I did a wc today and cleaned out my media on an AC110, plugged it back up and it began making the most awful noise. It sounds like something is stuck in the motor and I've cleaned it thoroughly, banged it to attempt to get whatever may be in there out, replugged it and NO Change.

Has anyone had this happen to them? Is there a solution I am missing? I haven't had it that long...maybe 4-5 months. And it still works but I've turned it off because the sound was driving me insane. I have since let it dry out hoping that all my manipulation would rid of that awful sound...to no avail.

Any ideas or suggestions would be fantastic.
Thanx!

sounds like theres something stuck in the impeller area

if you unplug the filter and drain out the water the motor assembly "unscrews" (its only like 1/2 a turn) then you can pull out the impeller and rinse out the motor in the sink..
chances are its just a bit of sand/gravel/snailshell stuck in there

dont soak the motor in water.. its pretty well sealed but its not water proof

Take it apart completely, clean it, fill it, and try again. I have never had an AC fail.

Thanks. Ill try it right now.

So i did all that and its still jacked up! Could I be the first person to have an AC110 that failed? This sucks tho. Good thing I believe in multiple filters. And again, it will work, it just sounds like a jackhammer!

Make sure the impellar shaft is pushed into the motor housing all the way.

Check the intake tube. Any bubbles?

Check to see if its still level, their touchy like that, if you bumped it, you could of thrown it out of whack, relevel it, and see if that makes the noise go away, I have had to do that before. Also, sometimes mine used to do that on restart even after a thorough cleaning and just went away after awhile.

I will just see if it goes away after a "long" while. Already tried a short while. I will plug it back up right before bed (I can't stand that noise) and we'll see if its still doing it in the a.m.

Thanks for all the help you all. Appreciate it!
