ac110 on 75 gal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i really dont go by turnover rates for filtering "healthwise". bio does a more efficient job at a lower gph, while mechanichal does better at a higher gph, excluding extremes either way. mechanichal filtration is for your benefit to keep the tank looking clean, not the fish, as the poo is still in the water, whether it be in the filter pads or floating about the tank. i always tend to overfilter, but i certainly could run my tanks off of air driven sponge filters with no gph.

Whatever. I'm not going to argue "opinions"!

 If you can't back up your opinions, then maybe you should think twice about the advise you are giving people:nono:

its enough. currently i have 2 ac110 on my 60. but i just picked up a 180, im not sure if i want to run them on the 180.

GPH is only meaningful for mechanical filtration (although it shouldn't be overlooked, any filter given time will clear your water mechanically), a filter's media volume and bio media do the real work (biological filtration)
