Good job! I am guessing that since you were gunked up, some of that gunk got into your impeller housing. It's very easy to pull out and rinse off if you're up to it.
 
yeah thanks for the tip but there wasnt that much gunk in there too either so idk maybe just enough to clog it but only if the grinding went away id be completely satsified but im still happy that its flowing again
 
I hear ya'. I had an old Whisper 30/60 that wore out finally and started making subtle grinding noises. I chose to retire it versus repair.

Do you know how to pull the impeller on your AC?
