so during a water change and switching power strips. my ac70 managed to syphon all the water out of the chamber and i didnt relaize it when i plugged it back in to just now when i noticed no water flowing out. is it likely that the motor burned out and its done for? anyone with similar experience? i wanna know if i can fix it or if i jsut gotta go get another one.

how long did it run w/o water?

cant be sure... either since yesterday midday when i did water change or this afternnon when i unplugged it.

Did you try to fill it up and see if it works?

just unplug it for a bit, then reprime it by filling the chamber back up with water and plug it in.

sometimes if the impeller is a bit gunky, you need to give it a flick with your finger.

unilkely it burnt out. I have some AC's that have been going for over 16 years now.

they are pretty indestructible.

If it was that long then yeah it is probably shot. Sorry. I always fill my filters when I do a water change, just to make sure. Use that link to Dr. Foster and smith to order a new ac.

I have abused my AC's. I'd let it cool off, put it back in the tank, and fill it up. If it works, great. If you hear nothing, it's fried.

thanx for all the replies... im hearing nothin when i plug it back in. i guess i might as weel upgrade to a ac110. probably not a bad thing except the hit to my wallet. lol.

have you pulled the motor and checked the magnetic prop?
