Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
If I do not change my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be recommended to do a water change, and water changes are critical for preventing future freshwater health problems.
I have a one month old 75 gallon tank that has mature amazon sword and anubias from another tank. Also has mature sponge filter and filter media in aquaclear 110. Also driftwood. Caribsea substrate and some rocks from local garden center(power washed and boiled)
Stocking rate :
2 Blue Acara 2"
2 Electric Blue Acara 2"
1 Firemouth 1.5"
1 Gold Severum 2"(moved after 1st week)
All were quarantine for 4 weeks in 20 gallon tank. Treated with API general cure, super ich cure and e.m. Erythromycin. Went in 75 in excellent shape
Water parameters:
Ammonia-0,Nitrite-0, Nitrate never over 10, PH 7.0,
All fish meet me at the glass and will eat like piranhas for the last month. Yesterday one of the EB did not come to the glass and would not eat acted scared. No bloat,no external anything. This morning swimming into corners. Put in hospital tank. Dead by noon. the other fish ate this a.m. Now acting scared and hiding. What tha..... Any ideas??????

What was the water numbers in the 75g? How long did u treat with the erythromycin? What were the temps in both tanks? Maybe just stressed from moving one tank to the other or there’s a fish picking on the others.

They were in quarantine for 4 weeks. Erythromycin dosed according to bottle. One dose, 24 hours later another dose, 24 hours later 25% water change then repeat.
They have been in the 75 for 5 weeks on Monday. I have the heater(fluval e series) set on 75. Room temp is 75-77.
I feed a variety of food
Omega one cichlid pellets
Sera color flakes
Frozen brine shrimp
Frozen blood worms
Rapashy community plus and soilent green
The EB that died was probably the boss of the tank.
I did a simple autopsy and there was not obstruction of the intestines. She did have eggs. Gills were perfect. No hemorrhage anywhere that I could see.
Now all the other fish act petrified when I look in the tank. Complete 180 from normal
I have a water filtration system that goes to all my tanks This is a mystery to me.
If there is some type of acute poisoning I can't figure out where it would come from
I doesed the tank with aquarium co-op easy green last Sunday Never had problem with it before.

I turned the light off and added activated carbon to filter. Just did water test again
