just heard about acara cichlids? wondering how aggresive thay are and what other fish besides cichlids i could keep with them?

depends on the species of the acara.
if you are refering to "blue acaras".
they are not a very aggressive species. as for fish other then cichlids to put with them. i'd say just about anything that isn't to small. various tetra species, alot of barb species, assortment of rainbows, prolly even swordtails and like fish, angelfish(cichlid), firemouth(cichlid), smaller geo's(cichlid), cories, there is alot of stuff you could try.
if you are refering to dwarf acaras. you could keep much of the same as above with them. except the other cichlids listed. you could keep them with apistos as well.
what size is your tank?
if you are refering to a Green Terror, then you cannot put much as stated above. i would keep them with cichlids and other large fish, that they cannot eat.
there also is "port cichlid" which is also acara. they get nice size, but are still purty peacefull.

im pretty sure the one i saw was a blue one I have a 55 gallon and was wondering if you guys think thats big enough also fishfreak sead firemouth i also saw those little guys are thay pretty peaceful to
i don't know what other people's experiences have been with firemouths, but i have certainly had a couple that were very aggressive...maybe make sure if you get one it's smaller than the acara is... i don't think it'll hurt it or anything, but it's something to consider

yeah firemounths with my exp. talk alot of smack, but back away purty easy. this is of course if they aren't breeding. then that is another matter.
right now thare aren't eny cichlids in there sounds like firemouths turn aggresive when thay breed so if i got one would it do ok or should thay be keeped in pairs
