OK question for those that believe in evolution. Why have scientists never found and animal that was in between the evolution process.
ALL species are between stages
Example a whale evolving into an elephant.
natural selection doesn't push for it
If you look at the remains of an elephant 300 years ago elephant bones would be elephant bone and not something else.
evolutionarily, 300 years is NOTHING
Many scientist Do not believe in evolution they believe in something called intelligent design.
that's just a lie. 99.85% of scientists in relavent field accept evolution
They do believe in god but they still have no explanation of how we got here.
WE got here by evolution, if you mean how life started, it's abiogenesis, which has nothing to do with evolution
There are many different tools that are used to determine the age of rocks and bones and not one of them come to the same number. They are all off by large numbers of 10s of thousands of years.
again, even 10's of thousands of years is less than a .001% margin of error for the 4,500,000,000 years the earth has been around
Next question. How does an animal decide that his current design is no longer functional.
simply put, the animal has no say in the matter, the environment does
Example a dinosaur decides that being a dinosaur is no longer good for me I will become a bird and then slowly morph himself and soon to come children into a bird. Animals either adapt(which is different from evolving) to there surrounding or die.

just another example of a person who doesn't understand what something is, yet decides they don't like it..

Jim: "You know what movie i never understood? Highlander."
Josh: "Did you ever see Highlander?"
Jim: "No."
Josh: "Well no *^%ing wonder!"

hopefully this will start working now and we can revive this

There is clear examples of evolution going on all around us. We know that the use of antibiotics has led to the prevalence of antibiotic-resistant microbes. This is a fact, and a pretty good example of evolution. And an example that 300 years can be a lot of time for evolution!

Agriculture utilizes the concept of certain species/strains being better adapted to certain soil types and microsites. Although artificial, this still shows that the environment has a selective pressure on organisms, and we have displayed this by using it to our advantage.

In a study, I showed the addition of a certain herbicide to the soil caused certain soil fungi to be favoured over others. These were more tolerant and were able to outcompete those that were sensitive. Instead of an herbicide, this could be something naturally-occurring, like the deposition of salts or something along that line. One is favoured over the other, and bam, you have natural selection.

It isn't rocket science - it is just logic!

/took out stuff mentioning religion/politics

I believe that evolution and/or adaptation is the best vialble causes at this time, but I also believe that there are other Scientific reasons for the development of life on this planet or others.
Colonization for one.

please stay on topic
we are not talking about god.. we are talking about science
how can you ask ppl who do not believe in it to explain why and then say this. The subject goes hand and hand with ppl that believe in God so I dont see how it was allowed in the first place.Real bich slap to ppl that tried to have their own conversations about God and got overwhelmed with negative comments but Christians cant chime in on why they dont or do believe in evolution. Now this lounge has really made me barf just a little in my mouth.Big G,you need a spanking, come here right now.

Jbnebres: Edit your post now or it will be done for you. Did I not warn about treading into the religious waters. I realize you are new, so this is your warning.
This thread, while yes might superficially skim the topic, it is NOT about religion or the opinions of religion, the origin of religion or the justifications of religions, etc(!!) - it is on the Scientific fact/theory of evolution of living organisms. PERIOD.
this would be all good if he didnt ask in the frst post to explain why you dont believe. If God is your reason then you should just shut up huh?Great thread you got their.I know you were not directing this to me and this guy might have gone too far,I didnt see his thing but you know what I mean.

who here understands and accepts evolution as a scientific theory?

if anything but yes, please state the cause/s that suggests why you do not.

As long as the reason for not believing is non religious, such as being an uneducated moron, that is. No, I am not a religious fanatic, or at all actually, but that is an acceptable and probably number one reason why people would not believe in evolution. Got to go with Jason on this one.

And in before close:headbang2
