Acclimating LARGE Fish

Wow....Ive never looked at it scientifically but its what Ive always done. When I get a shipment of fishes, whether big or small, I cut the bag at once and I either grab them out or just dump them all in the tank at once. I mean theyve suffered many days on a long trip in depleting oxygenated/clean water, DONT make them wait any longer. I never acclimate. Never had a fish die from this...

Wierd, I got up this morning with hangover so I decided to eat last nights food..."WHAT THE HELL", my 8" Green Terror was on the floor motionless. I just looked because she wasnt even moving, so I got her and threw her back in the bucket so she wont stink the garbage.....She is still ALIVE, wow. I know its got nothing to do with the topic but just wanna tell you guys this odd morning.

Fantastic post and a good explaination to why it always seems the fish I try hardest to acclimate and fuss over seem to be the most likely to die. The ones I could care less about and just plop in the tank never have problems.

BTW, I also had a dry fish on the floor revive when tossed back in.. hehe
