Alright so i've heard the 2 choices drip them or drop and plop them. Seeing as they will be in the box for 21 hours i would like to know what would be the best way to do this?

thanks in advance

drip is my prefered choice. drip for an hour and see if they take food right away. if they eat then they are really ready to drop in.

I've heard both arguments.

Personally I'd test the water they arrive in, it'll only add another 5 minutes to the 21 hours. From there you can make an informed decision based on Ph, hardness and ammonia.

2nd thing I'd do after taking water for samples would be add something like Prime that will take care of the ammonia in the short term. If you're not worrying about ammonia you have more time to do things right.

I take about half the water out, replace with aquarium water, wait 15 minutes and scoop ray out into a plastic dish and put in the tank.

I allways drip them ,remove most of the water they came with{only keep enough to cover them}use the airline wide open and let the contaner fill up.I also use binox on them while they are dripping ,just as a preventative against any amonia burn.

after mine came in i did a scoop tank water in method and the rays were stressed more and raised their discs for a while...i would do the drop and plop method next time...my exp. (they were in the box for 19hrs)...they are fine now i got them on friday...

thanks for the link, very informative i think i shall drop and plop em lol:D

Thats silly. The PH shock or Temp could kill them.

Take 30 mins to a hour to slowly acclimatise them with added aeration, before slowly allowing them to swim out of the bag into the tank.
