What is the best method for acclimating a rtc, or any cat for that matter, to a new tank? I've heard all different ways and I was wondering what you guys had to say. I'm getting one later and he's about 4". I'm putting him in a 30 g grow out until he's about 7-8" then he's going into my 120.

Take a air house tie a knot in it and get a siphon going so it's only a drip and let it drip for awhile.

Yes correct. I do this with my cats and rays and never lost one. And I am sorry for your lose. Hope they will send you another one

The drip method is a good one. Hope you have plans for a bigger tank after that 120 though. Will need at least a 1000 when he is fully grown, just fair warning makin sure you know....

I'm making plans for a bigger tank don't worry. How long will he last in a 7' round by 20" deep, approx. 535 gallons? What size should he be when I move him from that one to a bigger one?

Maybe when he's around 4ft if he gets to that size lately I haven't seen an rtc over 4ft or 5ft you might be able to house him for life in that but bigger is always better spesh for these guys +VERY good filteration
