Acclimatization overrated?

In the rain forest , water conditiotions could change very quickly in a thunder storm.
PH,temperature, hardiness, the whole paramameters could go up or down in a matter of minutes.

I bring my fish home, and drop the bag in the QT tank for 10 - 15 depending on how excited I am lolz. Then in they go, never had a fish die from this, although Always buy fish from the same city, so water is likely to be pretty close.

Moving fish from one tank to another in my house I dont acclimate.
I would never float a bag in my tanks,if Im acclimating Ill use the drip method.Put the fish with its water in a bucket add ammolock and drip water from the tank into it till the volume quadruples. If I get fish shipped to me and can smell ammonia they go straight into fresh water immediatly.
Though one prominent scientist thinks the whole idea is overrated.
