Hi fellows, how are you?

These are my new Acestrorhynchus! I really don know if they are A. falcatus or A. altus because they seems exactly the same!!! By the way...
My H. tatauaia is the pack boss! They are in my qt since yesterday and they will be there until next month! They are in good shape but with some minor face lesions. I saw 1 eating today and I think that all the others will eat soon!

Looking good!

I wish we could get good sized, healthy 'cudas like that on a regular basis Stateside.

Those are nice looking cudas!

very cool setup! I like the "red tail" theme.

Looking good!

...and I wish we could get some ATFs, Odoes, Snakeheads, Asian catfishes .... Believe me Chicx...you are better than me when we are talking about fishes

Thank you guys...they are nice fishes and much more beautifull than appear at this terrible pics. I think that the "pack effect" helped alot with some skittish behaviour! Because they seems very calm..

Hey lix...now I need to put some yellow in this combo....yellow tail kudas :cool-1:

Guys...do you think that they are falcatus or altus??? The spots behind the opercle are absolutely circular and not inverted teadrop shape...I know that altus is more rare for you but this can be due the fact that many aces in USA market came from another countries of south america. The location of these fishes (Pará state, Tapajós river) and if i'm not wrong both species have occurence there! What do you think??? falcatus or altus???

Hi keepers, how are you?

I think the "pack effect" is over...my tat is trying to pick the kudas. It isn't an ultra-violent approach, but every time that some ace is swimming close to the sabbertooth's head she tries to bite! She is not chasing around the tank or targeting agressive to one ace in special. The aces don't seems to care about this, but I'm little concerned because I already been chewed in my hand and that jaw is very powerfull! I don't know if she is just trying to dominate the others. Should I place the kudas in another tank? Should I wait a little more because just has been pass 48 hours since I put the kudas? What should I try???

thks

As long as she's not doing any damage to them, I'd leave it alone. Just keep a close eye on it. It sounds like either she's dominating them or she's hungry and trying to take a bite out of what happens to be nearby. Try feeding her and see what happens.

Hi Chicx...I don't think it is hungry because there is 50 feeder fishes together in her tank. No damages until now, sometimes it seems more a dominance display than agression but I will keep an eye on her. Payaras have a giant potential to cause serious damage and I'm absolutely convinced that if she wants she could kill all 4 aces in less than a couple minutes.Hais from BrazilD.
