acetone & razorblade not working

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd have to see it to be sure but it sounds like you've got calcium deposits (wich won't come off with a razor or acetone). I don't know it that's what you've got but try putting some vinegar on it. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wipe off. Just a possibility.

thank you all but i think dr joe has it right. there is absolutely nothing on the glass yet it is apparent where the old silicone was. yesterday i said F it and just siliconed the tank after one last good scrape and wipe down with acetone and the new silicone has stuck extremely well.:headbang2 the tank never leaked in the first place but the old silicone looked questionable so i redid it anyways. once again thanks to everyone who has answered my multiple questions on tank sealing.:)

heres a few, i wish i wouldve masked off the bottom to make it look more professional but i only masked the sides. gotta get everything in my 100g over to this 150 so that i can reseal that as well.

oops forgot pix! go to next post.

:clap:clap:clap Bravo!

I can see why your anxious to start on a second one with good work like this!

I had hoped I could shame you into posting pix .
