Ok so I am looking into getting a achara catfish. Don’t know that bunch about them. How big they get just general info would be great thank you

One of my fantasy fish. Needs monstrously wide tank or pond due to its whiskers being fully twice as wide as the fish is long.
Get very big and as stated above, very very long whiskers which make it need a very wide tank. Best in a pond IMO. Had one in a 24' wide tank before moving him into a buddies 1000 gallon pond. They will eat everything in sight and dart very fast across the tank when food is around.This fast darting can cause damage to them if they feel trapped with small spaces with their whiskers.
Mine grew from 3 inches to 18 in less than a year.
If you have the space for them, beautiful fish with great coloring but will need a huge tank.

Get about 3 foot,needs at least a 1000 gallons or so,doesn't like to be cramped,not terribly picky about food
