Acintics vs Daylights..

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh and the light strip I have has 14 moonlights installed in it already so I'm covered for that blue led strip Wyldfya but thanks for the suggestion..

hmmm now I have to decide between 6,700 or 10,000k for my 2 bulbs to replace...... part of me is thihking 10,000ks all around might make everything look even nicer/brighter... but I dont want that to be overkill or blind my fish!

Yea they're PC's. Okay ditch anything with acintic. How would 6500's work for me? ALMOST the Same as 6700's im guessing?
6500K will work fine, anything between 6000K and 10,000K will work fine.

I have no problems using 10,000K on planted tanks, as well as for fish only tanks. The spectrum really isn't going to affect the fish too much.

6700 only way to go on a planted tank

I have seen more planted tanks that use only partial or no 6700K bulbs than those that do. 6700K is recommended, but it is not the only bulb you can use. Several PC companies put 6500K in their plant lights, and some use 8000K bulbs. IMO 8000K gets the best growth, and has a great color.

I went ahead and purchased two more 10,000k's from Catalina. Here's to hoping my room will be lit up like vegas!

Haha! If you want the room lit up like vegas you could try multi colored LEDs! My friend has a 400W MH bulb over a 54 corner reef, and that thing brightens up his entire apartment!
