I'm building the tank in the wall through the side of my living room. It will be enclosed and insulated after it's set up. Maintenance will be done from outside. There will be access to the tank for feeding from inside the house. The tank is 8'x3'x3' with 1" sides and 3/4" top and bottom. It's a Clarity Plus 500 gal.

So far the stock will be a 22" RTC, 14" Gar, 9" Giant Gourami. I'm also growing out TSN, its only 4" now.

I got the area dug out and formed yesterday. I will need 2 yards of concrete to fill the hole. The pad will be 6'x9'x4" with footings under the ends of the tank. I got lucky, called this morning, the concrete truck will be here today.

They get along fine now. The gourami seems to be keeping up with the RTC. I may have to keep an eye on the gar it's growing a little slower. The 3 of them are in a 120 48"x24"x24" and have been together since the end of february.

Got the concrete pad done. I could have went deeper on the footings, there was plenty extra. I had enough to do the walk way up to my house.
They say it takes 29 days for it to fully cure.
My GF had to write on it.:irked:

Craigslist, I waited for 2 months before buying a big tank. I passed on a 200, 265, 300, and 365. I'm glad I waited.:headbang2

Update:
I took the day off today and did some shopping. I purchased all the 2x12's for the tank base, plywood, and block for the stand. I also picked up joist hangers, liquid nails, and screws.
My plan is to get the blocks set and fill them with concrete. Build a 2x12 frame, 4 boards wide around the sides. I'm going to liquid nails then screw the 2x12's together 4 thick, forming beams and leaving the center open under the tank for sump placement. It's more than overkill.
Ignore the 6' 2x12, it's only there to check for level.
