Hi, I just bought my first acrylic aquarium and noticed something in the picture I captured. My question is: does this indicate a potentially weak structure in the aquarium? I dont care about how it looks.20250911_210148.jpg

Tank size, material thickness? Looks like someones already reinforced it once with maybe weld-on #40. Its a 2 part acrylic glue. Im thinking they may have had the ratio off. The tank could also bow very badly and that would cause the fillet of glue to crackle like that. I have a 500 that bows badly and its 40+ yrs old. It came factory with fillets of weld on #40. Some of the Fillets look similiar on the surface but are clear underneath. Look from the the under side to see if the crackling is just on the surface or penetrates down further. You should be able to see why they reinforced it from underneath also.

0.787 inch thick i dont undestand what do you mean by if the cracklinf is just on the serfice, if I understand it corectly i would prescribe it like, on whole surface where connetion was created, aquarium was not used and tank size is 120x58x60 so 47 X 23 X 23.5

Appreciate the additional pics and info. Take back my first response with the use of fillets and weld-on #40. It looked like there was a bevel of glue inside the tank there in those 1st pics.

New pics i can tell the whole seam just looks bad where its attached like ur saying unfortunately. I don’t recommend any kind of foam under acrylic tanks either. Just plywood is good. The material thickness is great for this size tank. Overbuilt even. But that seam does not look good. If its a new tank id get ur money back. The seams on an acrylic tank should be clear and almost reflect like a mirror. No bubbles or white areas. Theres ways to reinforce them to make em strong again but if u paid someone to do this for u there is a real problem here especially with a brand new tank.
