acrylic help

i have an acrylic top for my tank and i want to cut it a slot in it but i dont know what to cute it with. i have many different kinds of saws, but what saw could i use?

I have used a router to make cuts that look like the factory did them.

Router is the best option, but you could also use a saber saw.

I used a circular saw to cut acrylic, I used a blade meant to cut wood paneling (lots of small teeth)

Same with a saber saw, reciprocating saw, scroll saw, hacksaw, band saw, sawzall, chainsaw, router, dremmel, or roto-zip... The trick is using the right blade.
