i have my 1st acrylic tank now and would never go near glass again
its much clearer than glass as when the tank is bigger the glass is thicker which has a green tint to it
acrylic is much stronger and if you buy it from a good maker it should come with a life time garantee
i have had mine set up for more than a year with no scratches on it at all even if it does scratch they can be polished out even with water in its much harder to do that with glass
algue doesnt stick to acrylic like glass and their is no silacon to get tarnished like with glass
acrylic looks much more modern

I have been watching the same auction. The only problem is that a new 300g can be had for $800. You will just have to wait till November and pick up in Orlando.
