It needs to be cell cast acrylic. It's the only kind that will last over time. And no, plexi does not equal acrylic.

oh I just found this quote on that web site they agree:

Does anybody know what I would be paying approximately for a piece thats 8 feet by 4 feet and thats 3/4 of an inch thick. Just trying to get an idea.

would glass be a reasonable alternative? How thick would I be looking at and how much would I pay for something in that size range?

you would have to call your local glass sales place and ask them depends where you are

but should be cheaper than acrylic but alot heavier and 4x8 sheet i would go 1" tempered low iron if you can afford low iron that is. Frank says that regular glass with a high iron contant makes water look green after about 4' of depth

thanks dude. Do you have an estimate on what you think that they cost. I guess there are a lot of things worse than the water being colored a little green.

all depends on who you call and howw close a glass manufacturer is really call around prices will be all over the place find the cheapest one andd go with it but i would say try to pick a smaller panel size then you can cut down on cost with buying multiple smaller pieces na dmuch lighteer to work with
