Acrylic Tank 2500 gallon repair

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What dimensions are the 600? I have to drive back to NY next month, may be able to swing by NJ too to take that off your hands.

(I replied in your other thread regarding the actual tank with my preference. I'm not one for dual panes/columns right in the middle so I voted for doing 2 1250s.)

600 is 8x4tallx30"

yeah when it rains it pours. Your on the list if I am successful with the 2500.

I hope its more than 1" thick for 4' tall tank, thats a little thin IMO. My 500 is 1.5" for 4' tall. I think dual tanks could be nice, but it may take a lot of prep to the edges for either. I have seen someone join 2 pieces of 4x8 acrylic, but that was during a build, moving a heavy acrylic tank, bonding and clamping would be a task.

Here's where i get flamed...I have a pima and he is a wee lad at 10" and showing great reds already. The 2500 would be way mo better. I was gonna keep the 600 too so I could line my walls with tanks that would be bad ***. Ahhh but the lawyer fees would be excessive in divorce court.

If I get the 2500 something will be for sale to appease my other half, propably the 5 gallon hex tank. Yes that will have to go.

Another option would to put the two halves back together making two side by side tanks, save on a piece of acrylic.

I would guess it would have to be a double thick piece so you would get the bonding surface thats needed for strength. I am not opposed to reasonable costs. I think if I would make two seperate tanks I would just sell one. My Pbass will be just fine in a 1250. But my asperations of having a manatee will be all shot to hell.
