Acrylic tank bowing and needing help ASAP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I can only say tank made with bad quality acrylic, if you buy from a trusted source you can try contact and address the issue with them, while bowing may not effect anything yet but I'm not so sure in long run especially you gonna use it for years.

The tank maybe wasn't made by a professional..3/4 thick i dont think is that good ..is too long and wide for the thickness..1" would be perfect, also check if the top panel is not "glue" with the front panel or back.

top panel is fully glued all around to the front, back, and both sides panels. The bow on the front is only around 1/8" but the top bowing around 3/16".

I wouldn't worry to much. 3/4" isn't great but it isn't terrible either. The tanks only 24 tall and that's the biggest factor for thickness.

I read often on here of people who have large acrylic tanks made by reputable companies that bow slightly. Like I said in the first reply. We would need to know exactly how much it's bowing to be able to tell you anything

thanks. I don't have anything that can be use to measure exactly how much it bow at the moment and will try tomorrow with a level. Anyway, I did use a long ruler to see if I can determine how much it has been bow on top, front, and back and it seen like it only bow 1/8" on the front and back, except the top that bow around 3/16" to 1/4" on the braces.

I don't see how it would be possible. At 3/4" your going to get a bit of bowing at the front and back panel but it shouldn't be to bad at 24" height.
