acrylic tank leak?

I once built a 30 gallon acrylic from raw acrylic sheets and it didn't leak the first time I built it. I built the tank out of 1/4 sheets acrylic. The tank didn't bend or anything and nothing broke off.
My question about acrylic tanks is when you build them and they don't leak after three days of having them full of water does that mean they are not going to leak for years?
