I own 11 tanks, all glass. Good tanks. Some of these glass tanks are 20 years old. They still look great. I own 2 acrylic tanks. 1 running, 1 stored. Both acrylic tanks are 180gal. The one that's running is scratched so bad on the inside, it looks like it came from the dump! It's not that old. The second tank, the one that's not running, was a freight damaged tank that was given to me. It has a crack in the top. When repaired, I'm sure it will look like crap also after running for a while. The weight issue with glass tanks is nothing compared to the "plastic" scratching issue. Do yourself a favor, buy a glass tank and hire a few guys to help you move it if you have to. Otherwise, learn to accept a scratched up tank. Hell, even plecos scratch acrylic tanks! :irked:

Thanks, I was considering going acrylic with my next tank but was worried about scratches. You've just saved me time and money. :D
