My disasters were:
Problem 1: 2 year old Oceanic 150 glass, the support system gave way and the sides bowed out about 6 inches. Glad I caught it before it failed completly. They replaced the tank, but I sold the new replacement one and bought a new tenecor 300 as it's true replacement.
Problem 2: 1 year old Perfecto 150 gallon glass, bottom leaked at seam in the middle of the night. Woke up to everthing dead and tank empty. It's in the basement so the leak couldn't be heard. Lost a mated pair of Golden Dwarf Eels in that one. They replaced the tank for me and claimed they would also replace the fish until they heard what I had in there then they said no sorry we dont cover fish. The replacement tank was used which caused problem #4
Problem #3: 5 year old All Glass 225 developed seam leak and they wouldn't replace. I replaced it with a used All-Glass 225 which I used for 4 years then sold after I built my new monster salt system.
Problem #4: 1 year old Perfecto replacement tank of Problem #2. This is the one that just about made me quit. I was in the process of building a 1000 gallon salt system (All acrylic) to take over all the glass tanks. 2 weeks away from completion of the acrylic system, the bottom pane developed a leak (Sounds familiar) this time I caught it half way through the leak so I was able to save everyone this time. If I hadn't have been almost done with the new system I would have quit the hobby on this one.
No more glass for me.
