Acrylic vs glass..again

aldiaz33! This is great news! I'm worried about my 450 being in a window I've even put a wallpaper on the back and top to try and stop UV radiation from reaching the acrylic but I'm pleased to know that I was wrong!

My tank I got from Aceface and was constructed earlier this year so I'm confident that it's newest materials.

Glad to hear it. I had an acrylic 270G that would get direct sunlight for a few hours every day for 2.5 years and it did not yellow at all. I got it used (it was about 8 years old). Plastic will yellow over time when exposed to UV light, but cast acrylic should not.

I'm a fan of glass myself, I'll admit it's heavy and if you crack a side there's no essy fix but I do enjoy the durability when it comes to scratch resistance.

tempered? love my 180 fully tempered. just do not hit it with a hammer or drop a rock.

Acrylic. Buffing out scratches is easy. I do it with fish in all the time. Yesterday in fact.

I've got several glass tanks that have become scratched and..... Well, I'm kinda stuck with it.

Acrylic for ease of use....scratch repair, drilling, moving....

I would have to say acrylic for reasons mentioned above, although the scratches bother the hell out of me. It seems like just staring at the tank scratches it. They're not from me either, the dang fish are scratching it.
