  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have ton of large driftwood in the tank. The volume makes it hard to get the tannin look. The ray in the pic is 10" disc.uploadfromtaptalk1372694246738.jpg

Purigen is like gold to aquariums. But e very aware!!!!!! DO NOT USE STRESS COAT OR PRIME after you recharge the purigen, it will release an amine base from the chlorine used to bleach the purigen and kill or do damage to your fish and bacteria. Total start over.

Unless you recharge the purigen as directed on the back of the can.

Thanks. After years of searching I finally found it. I have a similar one that I am trying to bring back to life. Someone tried to burn it so I am going to sand in and see if I can save it. At the very least it will have one show side.

I would love to see photos of the final sanded piece. I fish the rivers around my house and just yesterday I found a burnt piece that was perfect for my tank, but knowing it was burned, I passed it up not thinking of the possibility of reviving it!! should go get it haha!
I also retract my previous statement about purigen with proof from instructions; (DO NOT USE STRESS COAT OR PRIME after you recharge the purigen, it will release an amine base from the chlorine used to bleach the purigen and kill or do damage to your fish and bacteria.) (Caution: some slime coat products may permanently foul Purigen® and render regeneration difficult. Do not reuse if odor of chlorine is detectable. In case of doubt, soak beads in small quantity of water and test for residual chlorine with a chlorine test kit.) I stand corrected lunker65
