I think you guys were right about it taking time because when the lights came on he was swimming around and he comes up to the tank when I get close. I am trying to post pics but I am not sure how to do it.

I'm all for documenting and sharing your experience but just remember that people come here to research and make educated decisions based on other people's knowledge and experience. I just thought it was pre mature to label a fish inactive after it'd been shipped across the US 3 days prior. From one tank to another tank to another tank by bag in God knows how short a time period.

As for how to post the pics, i believe you need toto upload it to another site first before you can post it here

you should be able to post pictures directly. use the "go advanced" tab and scroll down, you'll see a tab called "manage attachments" that's where you can upload your pics directly from your computer

My ruby red isnt very active and stays in one spot of the tank. The only time I seem him move is when a guppy swims near him then he just chases it away. It did eat several guppies but it doesnt eat any frozen food except brine shrimp. Is there anything I can do so it swims around more? My exodons were a LOT more interesting than this fish.

this is an accurate description of Serrasalmus behavior.
