Hi everyone,

Im considering whether to add a flowerhorn to my tank.

My current stock is:

1x Red Tail Golden Arowana 14"
1x Flagtail 12"
13x Clown loaches from 2" - 4"

The flowerhorn im looking at is 4", i doubt my arowana will try to eat it because the clown loaches can swim next to his mouth, but will the flowerhorn eat my clown loaches?

Also i know flowerhorn are agressive fish, but is that all of them? or down to the individual?

Thanks

It depends on the individual FH. Some can make it in a community tank but others will attack anything that moves.

id start with a smaller one. 1-5" in that range

It might work but a bigger tank and a lot of checking on them might work even more.

what i found if that my arowana hated any flowergorn i put in my tank.
i had a good quality zz and it killed him he was 12" at least.
every flowerhorn i put in the were like 2-3" and he killed yhem but never ate them.
my uncles aro is the same with the flowerhorns.

Does flowerhorn eat small fishes? Like would it start eating my 2" clown loaches?

They can eat smaller fish but in that big a tank I don't see it being a problem. My only concern would be the arowanna. I would try it out.
