Confused bro if you know that it can work what are you asking ?

Chocolate will destroy that tank as a male. Mine is more aggressive than my severum by a decent margin. I wouldn't try than in less than a 180.

More of scale. Works with many more fish in a much larger tank, but if y'all think those 4 would work in a 125.

What do you mean by scale ? The fish are all gonna grow.

Add a school of festivum or something that fits your bill of cichlid and dither. You are contemplating four fish from three considerably different habitats, you won't see an easy way to mold it no matter how bad you want it. If it's a grow out tank then go for it, if you have back up options give a try. As someone who keeps half the cichlids mentioned I imagine it something like this, Chocolate pesters whoever he finds, this will inevitably lead up to one fish becoming considerably weaker. My guess is the JD or the polleni, they will end up with torn fins and missing scales. Sickness will set in the form of bacterial infection, or more likely fungus. The fish will die and the remaining two will end up getting it. You can treat it but what does it solve? You kill the idea of a chocolate and the severum will run the tank, and the polleni will fight it most likely. The JD will end up hoping for the best unless it has a considerable size advantage.

The thing about cichlids is that you have to make a balance. There will be one in charge, or multiples that fight for it. The more peaceful the leader is, the more peaceful the scuffles will be in general.

Yes. Basically I'm wondering if y'all think it will work. I've seen it work but the scale was much larger. 1000 gallon tank with 2 bleekeri, ~5 red severums, 2 yellow, 1 green, EBJD, electric blue acara, 3 chocolates, some silver dollars and some other kinda large barb dither, some cats, geophagus, and a puffer... Oh and a pig nose turtle growing out.

At 1k gallons your looking at a tank that is at least a couple feet longer in every direction. I think a chocolate won't work in this 125, based on experience.

Comparing the much larger scale 1000 g to your 125g is like comparing apples to oranges. There are significantly more fish in the 1000 g tank, so a single aggressor would be tracking considerably more fish than concentrating on a single fish.

Too answer your question though, I reckon if you got lucky and the paratilapia turned out to be a pretty relaxed fish and the choc ends up female you may just be ok. Just depends on how they're personalities develop when mature.
