K well my 518 gallon tank is pretty much finished finally took a few months bet definatly well worth the time glad i didn't listen to those who said scrap it, allthough i am not mad at them that how you get tanks like this fo free like me
thumbsup.gif
anyway as of right now i have a few fish that my buddies uncle wants to to have they are 2 albino oscars about 10", 1 black ghost knife about 10", and 1 silver arowanna that is about 20", i also have a few fish in my tanks that are growing to go in the tank like my lemon oscar, my texas cichlid a couple common plecos and 2 clown loaches (plan on gettin a couple more, and it will probably be a couple years before they go in the big tank).

What else would you guys put in the tank?? or what would you replace???

Id get rid of the commons, and get royal plecos, or other large grpwomg plecos.
Like L-24,L-25, L-27 etc.

k any more ideas

Because of the huge adult size of the Silver Arowana, and it being an aggressive predator, there are very few common aquarium species that can be kept with this fish. Tankmates have to be large and robust. In the wild, this fish survives by jumping for its food which includes insects and small birds as a result of this, the tank must be kept covered at all times and even weighted down as the fish grows.

What are the exact measurments (length, width and height) of your tank :) ?

Royal plecos are very territorial towards each other and often towards other large plecos too, they also don't grow as large as commons.

The commons may become a little territorial towards each other, but this shouldn't be a problem in a 518gallon tank with a good decor arrangement.

7 feet long, 3.5 feet wide, and 3 feet tall. the tank does have a good hood on it it weighs roughly 200 pounds, made out fo 3/4 and 1 inch exterior grade plywood, so any suggestions???

O here are a couple pics of the tank and the almost done hood, i will post some full pics of everything done on the weekend when i move it into my house.

KICK OUT THOSE OSCARS! and replace with RARE and COLORFUL DATNOIDS!

get pbass you wont be disappointed will do great with aro's as well, i say get some bass, another aro keep the oscars and get some shovelnose cats instead of pleco's
just my 2cents

actaully i was thinkin p bass, i would also like to get a couple more aro's, the plecos i think i am gunna have to keep because i already have 2 of them and i have nowhere else to put them

yea id say watch out for them because if they got swallowed the swallower and swallowee will most likely both end up dying
where do you plan to get your bass from, get some wild tem's from rapps ne cichlids maybe?
