The ram aren't aggressive unless you have a breeding pair I have a ram now and he is mellow as hell stays at the bottom and swims around some times going to the middle could also get a African butterfly fish

6 is a good number of ottos. They like to socialize and since they're smaller you need more to clear up algae. I would wait a month or so until you have enough algae accumulated. They need a constant supply of algae to be happy.

Have any particular tetra in mind? I personally like Emperor tetras since they're so peaceful and beautiful but there are many out there.

It's either a school of ottos or a BN pleco people say the ottos will eat a lot of the algae very soon and not have anything else, fix this with algae wafers? I'll get 2 rams also male, any other centerpiece active fish I could fit? I would prefer the small thin tetras neon or theres some yellowtailed one that looks neat.

I would persoanlly do cardinal tetras in that tank, maybe a dwarf gourami for your center? With all those little fish i wouldnt go too big. I think on eor two african butterfly fish would also be cool.

I've never had a problem with the ottos running out of algae and it runs wild in my tank. I have a small oval patch of green algae in the back just for the ottos but keep the rest of my glass clean, or try. I keep wafers on hand though in case I need them though, so you should if you get them.

Also since most otto cats are wild caught they are starving by the time you get them. A few of mine died when I first started keeping them because I didn't have enough algae in my tank. They seem to prefer the algae in the tank v.s wafers and wouldn't eat them.

Congo tetras are actually a good choice and peaceful schooler as are cardinals.
