They are very cute at that size, with all the charactor of my bigger Snakeheads.
They swim upto the front of the glass every time I walk near it.

It was there small size that I was interested in. I wanted to stick a smaller tank in my hallway, they were the perfect fit. They were £8 each, not sure what that is in Aussie dollars. The Channa Sp. Assam which is a fraction smaller fully grown was £85.

I would like to have a go at breeding them as long as I have a pair, I would imagine it would be easier to breed the smaller species.

from various sources, i've read that the male has a broader head, and the top fin has one of those 'osia-somethins' ? a color spot basicaly on the end. the female doesnt have a color spot.

Occeli or something like that, Basically spots. Both of mine have spots so I guess I have two males, I will pop to the shop again on the weekend to see if they have a female.

Thanks for your help :)

Thanks Phull, Enjoy, I intend to, not seen many fish of this small size with so much confidence and personality. A true Snakehead :)

I am unfortunatly down to one. Returned home from work yesterday to find one missing, after an hours search found him under my dinning table. Put him back in the water, had heard many stories of them recovering after long stints out of water.

He had a few thrashes but eventually past later in the evening. I measured the gap he got through, 7mm. They must have extreamly good aim to get through that as he can't have been much thinner himself. Quite gutted.

Her indoors went to the shop today to pick me up another, as a surprise, how sweet :) and they have ran out of stock. I will now go on a mission to find a female.

I'm surprised that you say they have confidence and personality, as they are meant to be the least aggressive snakehead right?>

Yes they are supposed to be one of the least aggressive. I have seen no evidence of aggression when I had the two, I believe they are probably not too aggressive. This may be different with adults of course.

Aggression is a relative term. They are not aggressive in comparison to the larger Snakeheads, They do still have territorial tendancies hence do have some aggression. I’m not sure that personality and confidence is linked exclusively to aggression. I maybe wrong of course.

As many people on this site have said they are all individuals with differing personalities, I may have an aggressive one.

The confidence and personality is related to his interactions with me i.e. thrashing at the glass every time I walk near by, not hiding, taking notice of what is going on outside of his tank. Curiosity if you like.
