added wrong salt?

You'd be better off using Melafix to heal it's fins than salt.
 
Instead of fretting about how many water changes to do and blah blah blah, use a cheap $10 hydrometer to measure the specific gravity. I find that salt doesnt help treat fin wounds, but is it more suited for body injuries or infections/diseases/parasites. Melafix, good 'ol heat and a correct diet will work wonders.

Or in turn, you could just put the fish in a tank with correct tankmates.
 
The amount of salt used for medicinal purposes (1 tbsp/5-10g), would not register on a hydrometer.

Of course it does.
 
I generally hate adding meds of any kind to my tanks but Melafix is made up of natural compounds and has proven itself to be safe. I'd have no problems using Melafix in any of my tanks if necessary.
 
Agreed--I have no other meds in my home.
