Lol this is very true I started with a 35 bow front played with it for about a year then I was ready to jump to a bigger tank and low and behold I found a 110 gallon at good will with tank stand and filtration system for 75 bucks so I got shoved into the bigger tanks now at a 200 and looking for realistically for a 400-600 till I build my divider wall tank :)
 
Yup it all starts with overstocking a 10g and then u do some research, find this site and realize the fish u just bought needs a tank 20x that big lol. My mom wouldn't let me buy cichlids when I was younger cuz some guy at the lfs said oscars could bite off a finger so I just kept balas and guppies until college. Then one day I walked into walmart and saw a 2" Oscar with a goldfish in his mouth and proceeded to buy him, a pacu, and a 10g tank for them!!! Without MFK they would have died within a few months but the pacu is doing great almost 4 years later in her new 240g after going thru a half dozen 55s and a 90. Your 10g will be lucky to serve as a sump in the near future ;)
