Hi I want to add a small chamber to my current sump before it hits the bio media, as the flow goes up through the media to get to end chamber, and if i clean the foam when i pull the foam out. The dirt can end up in the media chamber.

1. Can i put in an acrylic sheet, i would assume only way to bond it would be silicon.
2. As its my only filter for my tank how long would it have to be down for, for the adhesive to stick.
3. Would i need to brace the baffle?

Also there anything like temporary or adjustable baffles i could slide in?

Kind Regards Andrew

Just as an alternative, because I hate permanentt baffles, and chambers, and consider them frivouls, and get in the way of maintenance, and restrict water flow.
This is how I configure my sumps
Beteeen my pump and biomedia, I use as barrier of porrett foam that acts as mechanical filtation, and a very porous flow thru wall.

Three small bags of media and a porous lava rock block provide adaequate ammonia, and nitrtte consumtion (0 ammonia 0 nitrite) for over 5 years,
Porrett foam wall is 2 inches thick, and the width and height if the sump, and provides adequate mechanical filtration
This section takes up´about a foot of space in the 125 gal 6 ft sump
And the other 5 feet of sump space is heavily planted, leaving nitrate s undetectable.

You can see the pump, and media sectiion, the dark section on the left.
