Cool Liz , how's the toilet training getting on ? Is he copying the others yet and going outside ?
He is crate trained ... he has had no accidents and he goes outside on command.. of course i know when it is about to happen.. i take him out after he eats and drinks.. he does nothing all night from about 10 pm .. until about 5 am i hear him . I get up, feed him and take him out.. he is in this routine.. and it works out.. also take him out on the large deck for exercise ..sometimes there.. but never inside in crate. ..he is very good in this .. now we are working on the leash manners.. walking down the driveway to get the paper he is great..walking up the driveway towards the house he is pulling or tugging with his mouth.. he loves tug of war..... i need to get a thin chain lead.. because he is slowly shredding this cloth one..lol

Great job Liz sounds like you've git everything in hand :) my mate who lives across the rd has git a dobbie he swears by the nose halti / harness , said it stops his dog pulling on lead instantly as the head is pulled to one side by the lead distracting the line of sight the dogs got.it would never work on my swift though hes a puller hes snapped two retractable leads with cords so hes now on a big thick one with webbed line , and like your pup is slowly chewing his way through it lol
Post a video of him at play time Liz I'd love to see him bouncing around like Bambi on ice :D

i appreciate your tip about the face collar.. i just happen to be reading about them.. and then i wondered who actually tried them and felt it worked...? So good to hear it helped your neighbor dog and i will definitly get one... i have the electric collar etc.. it is sitting in the closet.. i have no use for things like that.. someone gave me it for my last dobie.. {maybe i should have used it} but i thought it was harsh.. and if you do not work it right can be the opposite to an aid in training.. .. i will post a video soon.. he is a little monster at times..all my others have been easy compared to him..... but he is full of himself.. confident.. brave and loving life.. i want him to enjoy his puppy hood along with my training.. slow is okay with me.. but the leash thing needs to be done before he gets too big and takes me for a run...thanks

13 weeks AND his ears are standing from massage...i just may post them now to make them stand better...one thing i do not want is one ear up and one down.. he is such a joy in my life.. i bought the pinch collar.. just for training.. he was getting to be too much without it..now i do not even have to use it...just put it on and i am able to train and he is calm.... i don't suggest this unless you know how to use it ...

He's looking great Liz such a cute face :D pinch collars seem to work well from what ive heard , I can't really use one on swift as it'll trap his wrinkles all the time so it'll turn into constant pinch collar lol , its good that hes remaining calm whilst training him with it Liz it means he understands and trusts this exercise thats why your no longer having to use it i suppose

i love your sweet boy... yes he has too many wrinkles...the dobie neck is so strong.. i did not think i would need to resort to a pinch at his young age...but he is amazingly powerful.. kind of large boned..i think that makes a big difference ..my female is dainty compared to this powerhouse at 14 weeks...Luke and Lady 002.JPG

He's got big paws to hes gona be a chunk fully grown good decision to get the pulling sorted now imo , males are a nightmare I think im going to opt for a girl (*****) next time around get a break from the constant alpha male battles :D (but I said that last time and ended up with the biggest boy in the litter hahaha) you boy may get bigger than your girl but I bet she keeps him in check even when hes adult , swift learnt a lesson over the weekend dont keep trying to mount a PitBull ***** when she's not in season , ended up with a cut muzzle and cheek but he'll live its a lesson all males learn at some point ;):D

haha..yes don't fool around with a pitbull female not in season... oh no... hope he heals quicky...poor boy... my female so far tolerates way too much.. she really wants to be a mother..i keep asking her how did she have such a big wild baby... i really want her to start putting him in his place.. but so far she is reluctant to enforce the respect.. so she leaves that up to me.....

She will I reckon once he starts to leave the puppy phase becoming an adult probably even before then 18 months ish , when playing becomes dominant behaviour then you'll see her snap at him
