I'm just wondering if its safe to add discus to an allready established tank with discus allready in it. I only have one in there right now as my other one died a week ago and I wish to add either one or two more if its safe to do so.

I have added discus to an established tank, they went alright.. though it was a discus only aquarium.. there was not any difference.

mind you I had 15 discus in a 3ft x 2ft x3ft tank.

you might want to make sure the new ones you add are a little bigger, because the original discus will bully them. He thinks it's his tank and will defend it, if they are bigger he may except them.

I would personally use a divider just to make the new discus more comfortable. It's already going to be stressed from acclimating to it's new environment, the last thing it needs is another fish bullying it.

I keep 10 in a 55g, add and sustract as I please. Discus behave.
