my tank cycled with feeders and a channel catfish. i added my pbass and oscar a week ago. they are all babies. i would like to add a school of clown loaches about 4 or 5. how long should i wait to add these and avoid a second cycle?

how big's your tank?

and just to avoid all the bashing my buddy just tore down a 125 and its sitting in the garage and will be setup before too long

Check ammonia, nitrites and nitrates with a liquid test kit. That's the only way to know where you stand with your water and if it's safe to add more fish.
Not sure how big PBass get but an Oscar will need a bare minimum of 55 gallons to himself. So it'll depend on how big a PBass gets and how big the tank is I'd say. Oh, and whether you can find Loaches 4" or bigger. An Oscar will outgrow Loaches by leaps and bounds and have them for dinner when he does.
Edit: Oops you posted while I was posting. I see it's a 75 g and they'll be going into a 125 g? You should have room for a school of at least 6 Loaches if the PBass stays under 12" (I think they do, not sure).

pbass get in the range of 2 foot but i am going to sell it before it gets that size. oscar is just a baby so is Pbass

i have the API test kit and it always shakes water out when i check my nitrates so its never accuarate. ammonia and nitrites always read zero. although i have done 2 or 3 water changes so the nitrates should be zero as well.

Give the filter 2 wks to build up BB and as long as the chemistry stays good (stable) then bring in the clowns.

Also if your having trouble with your test kit, take a sample to your LFS to verify your findings (and either watch or ask how they do the tests). And ask the LFS if they might have a spare bottle of cap for your test kit too.
