@triwolves thanks i love my devils except im currently dealing with my own cluster f, my devils spawned, nice eggs, all was well till they hatched, male went nuts drove the female away almost to the point she was gonna jump out, now i have no idea if i have any survivors if he is gaurding them, there in a 180 gallon solo with the dad and i havent seen anything in a while..... but it has sooo many places they could be holed up, moss ect ect so im at a loss as of what to do ... do i rescape and run the risk of losing any babies i may have left or have my male devil occupy my big tank solo for another month and see .. as a result i have now added a 90 gallon a 55, 2 27 gallons just to house everything until i figure it all out..

my poor female never got hurt he was just being brutal, so she is now in recovery in a 55 solo, i have no idea if i should reintroduce her ... would she eat/attack the spawn should there be any ,

sorry not trying to jack your thread... I got banned for a week right when i needed actual advice the most lol

I wouldn't reintroduce her if you want to keep the fry. My guess is that it the male doesn't murder her she will eat them and they may respawn but if you find them take some out:)

yeah i wish i could even just see one of them, but there are holes in the sand up against wood , big wads of moss, slate with the sand cavities under the ledge , and a jet black background, so i have no idea where they may be, i have tried with a flashlight just to try to catch one swimming , he may have eaten them, but i would be choked at myself if i disrupted anything and lost the fry , if any to my impatience, i need to find a more duarble female , my current pair she is about 60% his size, i have a really nice blue texas upstairs but i dont want to put her in either until i can confirm the existing fry are gone...

its sucks because i was pretty excited about the red devils spawning in a tank solo and leaving the fry with the parents and then it all went wonky
