Adding Fish

So I have 3 golden severums, 2 clown loaches, and 1 bristlenose pleco in my 25 gallon tank, and all of them are juveniles. I know many people will say severums and loaches can never be in a 25g, but everythings fine. They eat the food, and they're happy. Or maybe I'm just wrong and they don't like it in there. So I'm just asking for advice for my aquarium. Could I add some more fish? Or should I just change the fish for a smaller species?

Yes I suggest if possible take the Severums back along with Clown Loaches if you have no plans in the future to upgrade to an aquarium minimum 3× or larger. The aquarium is too small trade in for a dwarf specie of Cichlid. Replace the Clown Loaches with a group of Corydora.

Ok, I'll do that.
But how many dwarf cichlids and corys could I keep?
And could you suggest a colorful dwarf cichlid species for me?

Apistogramma, kribensis, rams. If the clown loaches are small you could keep them for a while in there since they grow really slowly and sell them for more later.

There are also smaller loaches that you may be interested in. Zebra loaches max out at 4 inches and the dwarf chain loach is even smaller. They might be options with the smaller cichlids.

I would do a small group of rams and some corys, planted that would make a great looking tank

My aquarium has a sand bottom. How do i plant plants in there?

most of my tanks have sand bottoms.

how do you plant them? do you just stick them into the sand? i heard that sand doesn't have nutrients for plants, and i can't get a nutri-tab in my area..

I'd stay away from 'pistos and rams. They are very delicate. +1 on the kribs, though.
