Probably a sad question but what do you think is the best way to add a new cichlid to a juvie aquarium? None are large yet or aggressive but I want to avoid as much hostility as I can. I'm adding an Oscar (most likely) a little smaller and another pictus cat at the same time. Kinda add for another distraction. Thanks all

I always just put the bags in the tank, then drop me after 15-20 minutes. I have a very trusted lfs though so I never worry about water or parasite issues. As far as hostility goes, if there is enough hiding spots and breaks in the line of sight.. it SHOULD be fine. Just keep in mind there is no guarantee here, some fish just hate other fish. Best of luck, and may wanna consider a larger Oscar or same size, they're kinda big sissies compared to the tex and jd

Thanks a lot. I do the bag thing and have plenty of hiding spots

re-arrange everything, break all territories; when i haven't done this in the past, its often resulted in excessive bullying and sometimes resultant disease

Alright I'll flip the decor again. Maybe add a plant or 2. Have some more rocks I can clean
