my rbp's are almost 2 inches, i saw some juvi pbass locally around 2" aswell. i was wondering since pbass are pretty fast swimmers n agressive themsevles. would they survive with my rbp's? would they be a threat to my rbp's? or the most common question, will they just end up as a snack for the rbp's? still new with rbps n i love these guys, i jus want a lil more action in the tank while they grow.

OK guys listen because as follows are the ONLY SUCCESSFUL tank mates for ANY piranha:

Water
Gravel
Decor

No ifs ands or buts! If you dont like it send all your Ps to me!!!

haha, nice one. i've seen tankmates in the past. in person even. jackdempsy, oscars, pacu's. i guess its a trial n error kinda thing. im adding 4 peacock bass to the tank today. we'll see what happens. ill keep you guys updated.

say bye bye to your pbass then!

How about you send the pbass to me instead. Dont do it, they will just be eaten. Pbass are way to good to be eaten by pirahnas

so far so good, if i notice any agression towards the pbass im pulling them out. there not even chasing. they all swim together. im sure they'll switch on him later, ill worry about it then.

Wild juvenile reds naturally school with other juvenile species such as pacus and silver dollars...Young fish growout in the largest school they could be part of....This makes predators confused, making it harder for them to pick off single fish...As the p's mature and discover the use of teeth, they litterally eat off their neighbor species....Eventually, the diverse school becomes a piranha shoal...The aquarium is like a small pond in the jungle, it's no different from the wild...Before ignorantly purchasing some respected fish such as pbass and throwing them into a teeth pool, check yourself...Whatever the case, I'm sure you do have another tank ready for the bass beauties, they are true ]\/[onster Fish...

check myself? if i wanna put pbass in a pool of teeth, then i will. most baby pbass die anyway for more reasons then we can even explain. 5 out of 10 bass born dont even reach adult hood. if they get punked by the piranhas im pullin them out. i have a tank waiting. if they survive, ill let them grow, and pull them out later anyway n put them in my community tank. either way, i doubt they'll die unless it happens when im not home, or unless its another unknown death. thanks anyway guys.
