I have a retic around 9-10 inches acrossed and 2 marble Motoros that are around5-6 inches acrossed. The retic is almost 2 years only and the mm are only a few months. I know the retic would out compleat them with food but would I have any other problems if I was going to mix them? I want to wait for the mm to be bigger but do I have to wait fror them to be the same size or bigger or can they be put together even if the mm are smaller than the retic? How dose it work for rays? And all rays are males, would it be different if I add a female course I would like to get a female later on down the road. Please help, thank you!

anyone?

It won't be a problem

If the size difference was the other way round ie big motoro small retic it may have been a issue

But you will be fine

It will be a gamble. Some males just hate other males. Is the retic mature? He may not like you adding some little boys. Some males could care less. You will just have to see what happens

Yeah he's mature, but yeah I'll just have to watch and see what happends. I was going to wait for the mm to be around the same size, it shouldn't be too long since the mm and Motoros grow fast and will be alot thicker. I think I'll make his chances alittle better.

you have some nice rays vamp. I've seen your posts before of your Leo pups. Wish I had the money!

I wouldn't add a female to that group if it works.. imo that would be asking for the males to start fighting... I would either keep a bachelor group... or keep the species separated and try keeping the MM males together and giving them females in the future. Also would depend how big the mms are when they mature vs your retic... while outgoing and boisterous I don't think my retics would fair well with some of the bigger/bulkier breeds for long even with ample space for all. Food competition would quickly put the retic last in line.

This is a great thread for me! I have a 2yr old male pearl about 12-14" & I just added 2 8" pearl females. Should I be worried about the females? I notices today he was on top of 1 & it has a small chunk out of the edge of her disc!
