Slowly acclimate the rock to salt water. I float my stones for at least 20 min. before easing them in.

Alright guys hilarious jokes aside, here's what it looks like after just 24 hours. One side has some stuff on it which I don't remember seeing on it before placing it in. On the other side and onto the bottom there is a brownish line which again seems new. It doesn't look like rust but can never be too sure. What do you all think?

Was the water new in the bucket? If so test the water and see if it has anything weird. Or take it to the Lfs as see if they can test it for copper and iron.
