wow thanks ill try that out/can i keep that bag in there forever? and when i clean it will it ever fade out????

you might wanna swich it around in the tank about once a month. it never goes bad unless it completely dissolves away. the way it works in the crushed coral/shells slowly disolve adding calcium carbonate to the water which raised the pH

you say they never lose there abilities???? i have coral in there and it isnt doing anything but its old and i use to wash it with bleach

do u have driftwood?, overfeed? too little water changes? all lower pH.
